Japanese & Arabic Calligraphy
To further enrich the gap between the east and the west, and with the collaboration of two Japanese artists, Mr. Atsushi Tohriyama and Mrs. Nobuko Sagawa, we produced a concept that focuses on showing different perspective to words through calligraphy. It started with a book consisting of a gorup of words, each written in both Arabic calligraphy and Japanese calligraphy, and each has its meaning written in the opposite language. Next in line is an artistic poster with a based on the same concept. When we first started this project, we were amazed by how words that share common meanings in the outside, actually hold fundamentally different values in the inside.
